The MCSW is appointed by the City Council and the purpose is to ensure women of all Districts are heard and to promote a fuller exchange of ideas. The MCSW strives for women to have an equal opportunity throughout all sectors of San Antonio. The main responsibilities of the Commission members are to:

  • Promote employment opportunities for women

  • Encourage women in all facets of life

This Commission on the Status of Women was established in 1970 and continues to allow women to advise the Mayor and the City Council on key policy issues.

Promoting Women’s Equality

But her passion does not stop when she leaves the office, she finds ways to be involved in her community to uplift women in every way she can. We are thrilled that Sasha was appointed to the MCSW and cannot wait to see her use her experience and knowledge to make a positive impact on the lives of women in San Antonio, Texas.
