It is more important than ever to support diversity and empowerment for young women who want to pursue careers in law in today’s changing society. The legal profession, like many others, has historically been dominated by certain demographics, creating barriers for underrepresented groups, particularly women. However, diverse perspectives in the law are imperative.

Begum Pelaez-Prada PLLC recognizes the pivotal role diversity plays in advancing the legal profession and ensuring equal access to justice. As a forward-thinking law firm committed to championing diversity and empowerment for women, we believe in providing opportunities for talented women to pursue their aspirations in law. Through our scholarship program, we aim to support and uplift aspiring female legal professionals.

We invite women pursuing a career in the legal field to apply to our scholarship program by sharing their personal experiences, challenges, and triumphs on their journey to pursuing a career in law, highlighting the transformative impact that a scholarship from Begum Pelaez-Prada PLLC would have on shaping a more inclusive legal landscape. By investing in the education and advancement of diverse voices in the legal field, we aim to cultivate a generation of empowered women who will drive positive change. This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a qualified candidate who writes the most compelling essay aligning with the prompt. Eligibility

  • The scholarship is open to female high school senior, vocational student, college student or graduate students who are legal residents of the United States residing in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia and who are enrolled in a vocational program or two to four year post-secondary institution in 2025.
  • Begum Pelaez-Prada PLLC employees, their immediate families (parents, children, siblings, and spouses), and persons living in the same households of such individuals (whether related or not) are not eligible to participate in the competition. 
  • Candidates for this scholarship should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in good overall academic standing.

Application Requirements

  • The candidate must fill out the form below with all necessary information
  • The candidate must submit a 1000-word essay response to the prompt: Craft an essay discussing the importance of fostering diversity and empowerment for young women pursuing a career in law. Share your personal experiences, challenges, and triumphs, highlighting the role a scholarship from Begum Pelaez-Prada PLLC would play in shaping a more inclusive legal landscape.
    • Please note that all essays will be checked for AI writing. If AI writing is deemed present in the essay, the application will be denied.
  • The candidate must submit a professional resumé that lists their professional and academic experience.
  • The candidate must submit a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school, as well as the most recent official transcript from their prior school. High school students must also submit proof of acceptance to their college or university.
  • Preference will be given to student’s either from or attending secondary school in the state.

The recipient of the The Begum Pelaez-Prada Future Women In Law Scholarship will be chosen during the month following the scholarship application deadline.
