When we formed Begum Peláez-Prada PLLC we knew we wanted to use our law firm as a platform to give back to our community in some way. So, we came up with our “5% Over 5K” program as a way to give greater meaning to our work, and to give to a cause we believe in –the work of the Battered Women and Children’s Shelter.
Through this program, we are committing to each corporate client that opts in to the program, that 5% of the legal fees equal to or above $5,000.00, collected from such corporate client each month will be donated to the Battered Women and Children’s Shelter. This donation will be made in the name of the client. In turn, the Battered Women and Children’s Shelter has agreed to include the corporate donor in its written materials each month a donation is made.
Essentially, the more we can help our clients with their legal needs, the more we help the Battered Women and Children’s Shelter with their funding needs. It is a win-win for us, and hopefully for our clients as well.
